Thanks to a grant from the Sandy Springs Society, we have been piloting a program called Healing Meals. This pilot program is offered at no charge, to residents of Sandy Springs. In our service area outside of Sandy Springs, we have just started to offer the same program for the nominal charge of $10 (that is just $1 per meal), thanks to some funding we have received from another grant source.

Through the Healing Meals program, our volunteers deliver 10 heat and eat meals to seniors being discharged from a hospital or rehab facility.  The food makes it possible for patients to return home and receive the proper nutrition and hydration that is vital to their recovery.  Best of all, they don’t have to worry about grocery shopping or dishes.

Seniors or family members can contact SSNF directly to pre-arrange for the delivery of Healing Meals after discharge.  Or, if you are receiving in-patient care at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Northside Hospital, Manor Care Rehab or Golden Living, you can ask their care management staff to contact us on your behalf.  They are familiar with the program and are working with us to identify patients who can benefit from the service.
